In this culture it seems to have become the
norm that politics and religion are not considered polite conversation even
among some Christians. Yet the bible tells us that we are to spread the gospel
by sharing our faith. We have become afraid to speak about our faith because we
don’t want to offend. I admire people who are not afraid to make their faith in
the Lord a part of their daily conversation; it seems to come so naturally to
some. Unfortunately it does not come naturally to me so I try to find other creative
ways. I want to share this opportunity with others who might have the same
dilemma.
As an artist I would like to put together a
special art exhibit. First I want to collect stories, poems, interviews, etc. (500
words or less, it will have to fit on one page) from ordinary people of all
ages and walks of life of how individuals came to know our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ or about how he is working in their lives. I would like to paint portraits of these
people to go with the stories. Portraits would be displayed along with their
stories in my art exhibits as well as on my web site. The purpose is to share
real stories of faith, reach out to other people, encourage them and show them
the power of God’s love.
I need voluntary witnesses- any one with a
story of faith. Only first names will be used in the exhibit and on my web site.
The original portraits will not be for sale. They will remain part of my
personal collection. I will, however give a copy of the portrait/testimony to
those who will participate.
